Alberto Cuadros (b. 1986 San Jose, Ca) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. An integral part of bridging the fine art and underground art community in LA, Cuardos is an artist whose work is as diverse as his mediums. From experimenting in social sculpture with projects such as TOP40LA to minimalist works that imprint artifact, marks, and aesthetic from this very particular moment in time.
Cuadros' hyper specific examination into form and materiality serve to highlight commonly overlooked aspects of mark making as well as the construction of an artwork itself. By arresting small moments or cingular actions within a work to reveal their most fundamental components, one is left with a concise document of the process as well as the index of the actions taken to produce it. Utilizing resources such as natural sunlight and organic materials, the works oscillate between various mediums which include photography, painting and sculpture, opening up the work to a deeper history which is not easily located. Alberto received his BFA from the California Institute of the Arts
