Prior to boarding a flight to Miami for my favorite time of the year, I caught up with my favorite troublemaker of the year James Haunt. A staple in LA’s new wave of artists, Haunt has developed an iconic style that’s synonymous to his city and subculture. His work carries the lightness of his mannerisms, happiness of his laugh, and the crisp lines of his surroundings. Haunt’s work presents the successful relationship of branding and contemporary art.
Recently finishing a three-month European tour, Haunt raised hell and left his California palette at Scope Art Fair in Basel Switzerland, X-Games in Munich, and every free wall in between. This year, James joins us in Miami as a featured artist at Scope Art Fair Miami 2013. Looking forward to seeing his solo installation, but what he really brings to the table is the art of fun.
